fantastic modern country with an old school sound. i bet they put on an awesome live show. they sound like they're having the kind of fun with their music that Willie and Waylon and them do.

Sung beautifully by soprano Kathy Teal, this medieval church music composed by the German abbess Saint Hildegard is perfect for relaxation or meditation. Uplifting.

Don't know if summer's coming where you are, but if so jump on this. Lovely headnodding beat, smile-inducing electric piano, cool little vocal sample. Nice work from Ras G.

This review is for the whole album. Paul Galbraith teams up with three other guitarists here (Edelton & Everton Gloeden, Tadeu do Amaral) as the Brazilian Guitar Quartet in arrangements of Bach's well-known Orchestral Suites. In general, large-scale orchestral works don't work too well when scaled down for the guitar, but these pieces come out surprisingly full of spirit. Galbraith has previously tackled transcriptions of Bach's violin sonatas and partitas with beautiful effect, and here he shows he's up to the task of taking on the whole orchestra. The quartet's overall sound is well-balanced and integrated, maybe even a bit too smooth. If you enjoy Bach and enjoy the guitar, there's plenty to like in this set.

This tune makes me think of hot cuban nights with a mix of New Orleans jazz. The trumpet playing is tremendous on this and all of their tracks. I can't say enough good things about this band.

Real country music from a time when country wasn't pop with a pinch of twang. Listen to this and you can practically taste the pork rinds and PBR.
